National Council Meeting (XXIII)
Kazipet, Warangal 3- 6, Feb 2008

The ICYM National Council Meeting (XXIII) was held on 3-6, Feb 2008 at Kazipet, Warangal. Ms Ashrita Arokiyam the 4th National President of ICYM and the NEXCO completed their term of office for 2 years and handed over to the newly elected National President Sajish Jose (Diocese of Belthangady, Mangalore) and his team. He thanked the outgoing NEXCO team and . Most. Rt. Rev. Bp. Leo Cornelio, Chairman Bishop CBCI Commission for Youth, Rev. Fr. Alwyn M.J D’Souza, National Youth Director, Sr. Maria Goretti Sangma, MSMHC, National Youth Coordinator and all the National Council Members. In all there were 49 members present for the meeting.

National Council Meeting (XXIV)
NBCLC, Bangalore 12-14, June 2008

The ICYM National Council Meeting (XXIV) was held on 12-14, June 2008 at NBCLC, Bangalore. Mr Sajish Jose, National Youth President welcomed Most. Rt. Rev. Leo Cornelio, Chairman Bishop CBCI Commission for Youth, Rev. Fr. Alwyn M.J D’Souza, National Youth Director, Sr. Maria Goretti Sangma, MSMHC, National Youth Coordinator and all the National Council Members. In all there were 38 members present for the meeting.
Fr. Johnson SDB the Regional Youth Director of North East Region briefed the National Council, Regarding the progress of the preliminary preparations to host the ICYM National Convention in 2010 at Shillong. The National Youth Award 2008 will be conferred in the month of November at the time of the extraordinary National Council Meeting at Nagpur.

CAT Progarmme 2008

Chaplains’ Animators’ Training Program (C.A.T)
Youth ministry course – 2008

The Chaplains’ Animators’ Training (CAT) program (XVI) was held at Shanthi Sandhana, FISI Bangalore from 1-11 June 2008. During the inaugural function Sr Maria Goretti Sangma, National Coordinator ICYM, welcomed the participants. 51 newly elected youth directors, animators and youth volunteers form Bangladesh, Nepal and India participated. Fr. Alwyn D’Souza, National Youth Director, gave the general information about the training program. Mr Sajish jose, ICYM National Youth President officially declared the CAT 2008 open.

Fr Jossy Fernandez, FISI, Director and Fr. Sunny Uppan Regional Youth Director of Karnataka were present for the function. Ms Sapna Robert, ICYM National Gen. Secretary, proposed the vote of thanks. Various subjects related to Youth Ministry were dealt with during the program by well known and able resource persons.
