October 24 to 26, 2014 : Karnataka Region witnessed its 9th Mega Regional Youth Convention at St. Philomena’s College grounds at Mysore. Regional Youth Director Fr. Mari Joseph welcomed the 1700 youth of the region who gathered from 14 dioceses as well as from various Youth Movements of Karnataka. Chairman Bishop Henry D’Souza delivered welcoming address and welcomed the young people whole heartedly. Host Diocese Bishop Thomas Anthony Vazhapilly celebrated the inaugural Holy Eucharist.

 Various sessions were organised to empower youth of Karnataka. Blood donation camp was organised to create awareness of preciousness of life among the youth. Peace rally was organised on the last day from St. Philomena’s Church to the campus. State ministers as well as various dignitaries were present to motivate youth on the Dias. On the last day Archbishop Bernard Moras celebrated thanksgiving Mass with other bishops from the region. From CBCI Council for Youth Fr. Franklin D’Souza participated in the program also conducted sessions on Leadership together with Bro. T. K. George. ICYM National adviser Mr. Raymond D’Souza also present and helped the region in organising the program. ICYM National Adviser Mr. Raymond D’Souza, ICYM National President Mr. Neelam Naresh Rao, ICYM National General Secretary Ms. Mary Jemcy, ICYM National Vice President Mr. Naresh Kumar took part in the convention. Mr. Martin ICYM regional President proposed the vote of thanks. Next Convention will be held at Mangalore Diocese.
