Jan. 27, Bangalore: Mr. Sunny Gudino from Karwar Diocese, Coordinator of Karnataka Jesus Youth together with the his collaborators organized three days Faith Conference 2013 at Apostolic Carmel Generalate Bangalore from January 25th to 27th, 2013. One thousand young people from all around Karnataka gathered for the well organized conference. Fr. Franklin D’Souza from the CBCI Office for Youth was one of the resource person for the conference. Three days themes were; Know the Faith, Live the Faith & Share the Faith.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


On Day 1 – Friday 25th January, Faith Conference was inaugurated by Most Rev. George Njaralakatt, Bishop of Mandya. Rev. Fr. Mari Joseph as present for the inaugural ceremony also addressed the youth. First day group reflected on two topics; namely, Purpose of Life and basis of Catholic faith and Holy Trinity, Christ’s real divinity & real humanity. Main resource persons were; Mr. CC Joseph, Bishop George Njaralakatt, Fr. Mari Joseph, Fr. Bitaju Mathew, Fr. Benedict Rajesh, and Fr. Franklin D’Souza. Most Rev. George Njaralakatt celebrated Holy Eucharist and prayed for the success of the conference. Day 2 started with Praise & Worship, at 8.30am we had republic day celebrations in the ground. Dr. J. Alexander IAS, Ex-Cabinet Minister, Govt. of Karnataka was the chief guest. He gave a very good speech on nation building, patriotism and our responsibility. He invited Youth to translate faith in to action. Main topics of the day were; 1. Catholic Church, saints, forgiveness of sins and eternal life, 2. Live the faith in the Church, 3. Role of Eucharist in living the faith. Main resource persons were; Most Rev. Henry D’Souza, Bishop of Bellary,Fr. Bitaju Mathew, Fr. Jnana Xavier, Fr Sunny Kunneliparambil CMI, Mr. CC Joseph, Fr. Franklin D’Souza. Bishop Henry celebrated Holy Eucharist and invited youth to witness jesus without fear. Taize prayer & Holy Rosary procession was conducted.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


Day 3 began with Praise & Worship, main topics of the day were; 1. Proclamation  2. Share faith by action Mr. CC Joseph, Fr. Ronald Cardoza, Dr. Edward Edezhath, Mr. George Devassy and Fr. Franklin D’Souza. A thanks giving Holy Eucharist was celebrated by Most Rev. Peter Machado, Bishop of Belgaum. Systematic action plan was planned at various level of ministries. Representatives from Teens ministry, Nurses ministry, Professionals ministry, Doctors ministry, elders were present at the conference. Fr. Franklin appreciated the commitment of the Jesus youth who organized this mega conference and he also asked them to be the light and salt in their missionary work. He also appreciated commitment of the youth towards Lord Jesus and towards his Church.
